Microsoft Dynamics 2011 Beta – 5 Improved Basic Customizations
We have been working with the new Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 Beta product the last few days. Here are 5 great changes related to customization to make our lives easier vs. CRM 4. These would have required custom code in CRM 4. There are a lot more great improvements in the product we will be blogging about so stop back to the blog soon! 1) Ability to have different Forms based on role – This will greatly reduce the use of JavaScript to hide/display fields for certain users.
2) Ability to reorder and remove left navigation items – This will help clean up unwanted items and order them based on your business need.
3) Create dashboard charts – This has been in the online version for a while now finally in the on-premise version too.
4) On a form add a Subgrid of related items or a Chart right on the form to reduce navigation.
5) Drag and Drop Fields!
